It would be a leg injury sustained as a young girl that would shift the trajectory of Lauren Farrell’s life. As an avid athlete and lover of sports, Lauren was now faced with the reality that she would be unable to participate in sports beyond the eighth grade. While she would certainly try to fill the void left in her due to the finality of her high school sports career, Lauren couldn’t seem to find anything that would bring her nearly the same fulfillment. Although her love of fashion and entrepreneurial ambitions never wavered, these were tough years for her, as she tried to find her space.
Lauren’s college years at Lehigh University and her time managing the men’s lacrosse team would start to fill the void and light a fire in her. She would lead the team to the university’s first state championship win ever in the schools history; and she’d do it again for a second year. Lauren realized quickly that in working closely with these young men, the void she felt seemed to get smaller. It was at Lehigh that her love of sports and fashion would begin to gel, as she observed mom’s trying to express their personal style and show their team spirit on game days. While they were trying, Lauren saw a need, and she was going to fill it. In many ways, one might say it was at this moment that LFNY was born.
In her last year at Lehigh, Lauren would have a wrist wallet patent (cuff bracelet) approved and shortly thereafter she would accept a job at Gucci. While she was grateful for her incredible position at one of the top five fashion houses in the country, and there were many takeaways, something was stirring inside of her; she knew if she didn’t pursue her own ambitions now, she could come to regret it later in life. After a year at Gucci, and a lot of research, Lauren would take the metaphorical leap.
The perfect “creative” storm was brewing and rather serendipitously, Lauren’s vision became clear. Her entrepreneurial spirit fueled by her love of sports and fashion would bring about her initial collection for the Lauren Farrell NY line; stadium-friendly sized handbags that met the bag policies for most national and collegiate stadiums. Again, there was a need, and Lauren was going to fill it. Fill it she did! Fans of the brand include Lauren Tannehill, Kacie McDonnell, Sara Blakely and more.

In many ways, with all of life’s twists and turns, if we are meant to be in a particular space, there’s no twist of fate that can alter our destiny if our passion is strong enough. Lauren puts it so succinctly in a quote pulled from the “Lauren Farrell NY Interview with Youthful Ambition.”
“It’s just crazy how when you look back you realize that the path you least expect, gets you where you’re most meant to be. And I’m so excited that with LFNY game day just got more fashionable.” Lauren Farrell (LFNY)
